Our Mission and Philosophy


The Cincinnati Aviation Heritage Society is organized exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes, more specifically to collect, restore and display General aviation artifacts relating to Ohio and the Cincinnati Tri-State in particular.

Mission

Encourages education, creativity and collaboration by contributing to the total well-being of the aviation community in three areas: (1) History, (2) Lifelong Education, (3) Thriving Aviation Communities.

Philosophy

That it is a part of Cincinnati Aviation Heritage Society’s corporate citizenship to be a leader in improving the quality of aviation education, by creating proactive, innovative partnerships with community institutions and enterprises with similar interests.

Membership

Our Collection

Our Collection consists of a large library of books and magazines concentrated on General Aviation and Airline Transport subjects

We have a large collection of scale model airplanes including a scale model Stinson SR-10C Reliant and a scale model of Don Fairbanks' Knight Twister built by him as well as several trophies he won racing the 'Twister'.

Our aircraft consist of:

  • 1939 Stinson SR-10C Reliant that was actually used in Air Mail Pick-up Operations by All American Airways. Sold to Rodney Roy (Roy Aero) who is in the process of restoring same.
  • Burt Rutan designed VariViggen that was built by Ron and Pam Smith of Anderson, Indiana. One of only a few examples remaining in the USA.
  • Full scale replica 1903 Wright Flyer that was built by Bufford Gross. This example is his number 2 replica (his number 1 is in the Wilbur Wright Home Museum.
  • Smith Termite
